Hey there — Welcome to The Entry Blocker
I’m Nick and the guy behind this blog. Please read on for more details regarding the purpose of this blog and why I created it. Thank you for stopping by!
The idea for The Entry Blocker came out of a very real and recent experience. For most of my life, I felt secure and I was even working in a security related area but I never gave much thought to the idea of someone breaking into my space — until it happened. A couple of weeks ago, someone broke into my garage and made off with a few items. While my home wasn’t technically “invaded,” it shook something in me. The sense of safety I always have taken for granted suddenly disappeared. I always thought it couldn’t happen to me.
That moment sparked something. I realized how unprepared I really was, and it pushed me to look deeper into the world of personal, home, and property security. Not in a paranoid way — but from a place of practical awareness. Because the truth is, with the tools and techniques available today, there’s no such thing as permanently blocking entry. But we can delay it. We can deter it. We can make it harder, more time-consuming, and riskier for someone to breach what’s ours. That’s the heart of this blog.
By profession, I’m an IT guy. But I’ve also got a strong background in security — though I can’t call myself a “professional” in the formal sense. Here in Texas, that title is regulated and requires a license. So, fair disclaimer: I’m not a licensed security pro. What I am is someone with hands-on experience, working alongside seasoned professionals, including former law enforcement officers from both the U.S. and abroad. These connections have provided me, and still do, with real-world insights and knowledge I want to share with you. Also to be transparent, please feel free to visit my Disclaimer page.
This blog isn’t really about me. It’s about helping you — and anyone else who wants to feel just a bit more prepared and protected. If one of my posts helps even just one single person out there to make a smarter decision, prevent a break-in, or simply feel safer, then I’ll consider this blog a success. Mission accomplished.
So, whether you’re looking to secure your home, protect your family, or just build more awareness around everyday vulnerabilities, you’re in the right place.
Thanks for stopping by. Don’t be shy — I’d love to hear from you, whether it’s feedback, ideas, or just a quick hello.
Stay safe!
Nick
